An AHPRA registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a health professional registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, ensuring they meet national standards for practice.
An NP is a Registered Nurse with the experience, expertise and ability to diagnose and treat people with a variety of acute or chronic health conditions. NPs have completed additional university study at a Master's degree level and are the most senior and independent clinical nurses in the Australian health care system.
National standards for practice ensure that NPs are fully capable of providing high quality, patient-centred care.
